Unacceptable Sacrifices
After waking up to the truly Orwellian sight of CIA Torture Memo author John Yoo defending the honor of the equally repugnant FBI from the depredations of our fascist President, I found myself once more face to face with one of the most tragic realities of “The Resistance” against swine emperor Trump.
You see on the surface Trump’s corruption, his open embrace of white nationalism, his neo-feudalist economic policies and the clear and present danger to migrants his ICE represents should be more than enough to solidify a widespread anti-Trump protest movement in the United States.
Unfortunately however, that simply isn’t good enough for an elite centrist American establishment (including mainstream liberals and so called “moderate” conservatives) that views Trump as an aberrant repudiation of the natural hierarchy in American politics; despite the fact that Trump is objectively a wealthy creature of unearned privilege (just like most of them) and not in any way an actual “populist.” Beltway insiders and wealthy party apparatchiks will settle for nothing less than erasing the Trump presidency and restoring society to a mythical time when wise technocrats and patriotic officials led America to… a bunch of wars, but that part doesn’t actually seem to come up very often.
As part of this centrist revival, corporate “liberal” media has actively attempted to rehabilitate every maggot war criminal from the Bush administration, the FBI and shockingly enough, even the fucking CIA; at least in part because their narrative that Trump is a treasonous Russian asset is utterly dependent on the public at large believing that *this* time the secret police/spies are telling the truth.
Naturally, I could spend all day explaining why both the CIA and the FBI are demonstrably fucking awful and should be disbanded at the first available opportunity, but the simple truth is that you already know this and therein lies my point. With the fate of every single marginalized American resting in their hands, as billionaires bribe politicians to cast votes that will murder thousands, if not millions of people and while ICE kicks in doors at 3AM to break up innocent families so private detention corporations can pocket billions of dollars worth of federal contracts – the US establishment has decided that the people who most need to be protected are the American gestapo and guys who strangle socialists to death with piano wire to keep the price of Dockers under $30 a pair.
After all, if Trump destroys the FBI, who will convince your developmentally challenged cousin that he’s in ISIS to continue the objectively pointless war on terror? If the public doesn’t trust the CIA, how will they go about the important business of torturing innocent cab drivers to death and then burning the evidence afterwards to hide the crime?
With a corrupt, bigoted fascist in the White House and potentially millions of lives hanging in the balance, I can’t think of a more irresponsible position than forcing voters to choose between siding with swine emperor Trump and defending mendacious ghoul killers like James Comey or James Clapper.
