Can’t You Read: Russiagate and the 1st Trump Impeachment

Editor’s note: after struggling against online censorship and some procrastinating, I’m getting around to reorganizing my website. As part of that process, I’m posting links to older content that I will never find again otherwise.

This activity is tedious, but necessary for my archives. Please bear with me in the meantime and thanks for all your support.

Unexploded Ordinance in a Propaganda War

As I’ve noted in the past, Russiagate and the New Cold War remain the conspiracy theory the liberal establishment simply cannot surrender; just today I was forced to explain on Twitter that imposing US sanctions does not mean you have any proof Russia rigged the 2016 election, or that Vladdy Putin was ever controlling the swine emperor with kompromat. In this late October 2019 blog post, I pointed out that the mainstream liberal media and political establishment’s long history of crying wolf about Russia, was actively impeding their efforts to impeach Trump for very real crimes involving strong-arming the government of Ukraine.

Of course in the end, what killed Trump’s impeachments (both of them) was partisan Republican fuckery; but when you’re asking yourself why seventy-five million people voted for an open fascist and the entire American right has descended into conspiracy thinking – it may be wise to remember that they had a prime example to learn from just prior.

“Unfortunately regardless of my general loathing of the subject, it remains utterly impossible to explain the severity of swine emperor Trump’s tinpot dictator turn in the Ukraine call scandal without being forced to discuss why this situation is in fact not “exactly like Russiagate” – an effort that is certainly not aided by the Democratic Party and “liberal” corporate media’s inexplicable insistence on bringing the matter up repeatedly; both to try and pile more damage onto Trump, and to attack heterodox candidates in the 2020 Democratic Party nomination contest.”
